Technology to Optimize Dental Implant Treatment at Winter Park Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

November 5th, 2014 by

Dental implants have become the standard of care to replace missing teeth.  They have stood the test of time, and through that time the materials and techniques have evolved, providing patients with ideal solutions to replacing missing and failing teeth.

At Winter Park Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we use the most advanced technology to address the individual needs of our patients, to assist us in planning and predictably performing dental implant surgery, and to achieve highly functional, esthetic, and long-term solutions for our patients.

Here’s a look at some of the cutting edge technology we use in providing our patients with the most modern, research-based, and proven dental implant solutions.

Cone Beam CT Scanner

CBCT Scanner

Our In-Office Cone Beam CT Scanner (CBCT ) permits for extremely accurate diagnosis and evaluation of both the hard and soft-tissues of the face and jaws.

Benefits of CBCT Scanning

Implant Planning Software

By using powerful and highly sophisticated software programs, we are able to visualize important anatomic structures, plan dental implant surgery, and perform virtual implant surgery.   This software allows us to better communicate with your dentist and your dentist’s lab.   The data from the virtual surgical plan is then used to create custom surgical guides, which will allow Dr. Tillery and Dr. Terezides to perform precision surgery with highly successful and predictable results.

3MTM True Definition Scanner

Anybody who has had traditional dental impressions with trays and goopy impression material can attest to the hassle and mess involved… especially if one has a small mouth or bad gag reflex.   With the advent of CAD/CAM technology, we are proud to be the first in Central Florida to implement the 3MTM True Definition Scanner to take digital intraoral impressions.   No need for bulky, uncomfortable impression trays, messy impression material, or upsetting your sensitive gag reflex!

We are able to use the digital impression information in conjunction with the CBCT Scan Data to plan your implant surgery.   After successful implant surgery, we can send the digital impression data to your dentist’s lab so your dentist can design and create the teeth for your implants.
